When SignalRGB is the better pick

If you want your lights to react to what happens in your games, or to match your screen, SignalRGB does that and RGB Engine doesn't. It also controls fans, shows system stats and supports more devices.

If you want great-looking lights that stay out of the way, RGB Engine is built for that. It runs quietly in the tray, starts with Windows, and the window only opens when you want it.

Switching from SignalRGB

Close SignalRGB and turn off its start with Windows setting, or uninstall it. Two RGB apps can't share the same lights. Then open RGB Engine and run the two-minute setup: it lights each part of your PC and you say what you see. Or skip setup and start with a sensible default.

Questions

Is RGB Engine lighter than SignalRGB?

On the same gaming PC, SignalRGB ran 13 processes and about 1.5 GB of RAM. RGB Engine runs on about 48 MB, including the OpenRGB service it ships with, and well under 1% of the CPU.

Does RGB Engine need an account or a subscription?

No. RGB Engine will be $4.99 once on Steam, with every look included and no account to make.

Will RGB Engine work with my hardware?

RGB Engine works with the fans, RAM, LED strips, coolers and motherboards that OpenRGB supports, which covers most popular brands. SignalRGB supports more devices overall, so check the OpenRGB device list for your parts.

Can I run RGB Engine and SignalRGB at the same time?

No. Two RGB apps fighting over the same lights makes them flicker. Close SignalRGB and turn off its start with Windows setting before you use RGB Engine.
