A lightweight RGB Fusion alternative

RGB Fusion now lives inside Gigabyte Control Center, next to fan control, overclocking and driver updates. If the lighting is all you want, RGB Engine does that one job from a single small app. It lights RGB Fusion 2 motherboards and Gigabyte graphics cards, plus the other brands in your case, using about 15 MB of RAM.

Which Gigabyte parts work

RGB Engine talks to your hardware through OpenRGB, which comes included. OpenRGB's 1.0 list includes Gigabyte motherboards with the RGB Fusion 2 USB controller (most AMD and Intel boards from X570 and Z390 on), older RGB Fusion boards, and Gigabyte graphics cards including the RTX 50 series. Check the OpenRGB device list for your exact parts.

Switching from Gigabyte Control Center

  1. Uninstall Gigabyte Control Center from Windows Settings, Apps, Installed apps, and restart.
  2. Restart into your BIOS, open Settings, then IO Ports, then Gigabyte Utilities Downloader Configuration, and turn off Gigabyte Utilities Downloader. Otherwise Windows offers to install it again. Older boards call this APP Center Download & Install.
  3. Open RGB Engine and run the two-minute setup: it lights each part of your PC and you say what you see. Or skip it and start with a sensible default.
